pad wear - sintered vs ceramic

Hi

Can you tell me the wear rate of normal pads vs sintered vs ceramic pro vs ceramic x3 please?
In particular I am referring to the Shimano range (DB-M485 etc).

I'm currently using the standard Shimano B01S and find they are wearing out extremely quickly (some wet/sandy riding.)
Which will last longer - sintered or ceramic pro? Or Sintered vs Ceramic x3?

thanks

Hi

Sintered and Ceramic D have about the same durability, and they will both last much longer than CeramicPro, Semi-metallic or Resin pads.

In choosing between Sintered or Ceramic D bear in mind that Sintered are usually quieter whereas Ceramic D run at lower heat.

Thanks

Could I get some clarification on some issues?

You mentioned "Ceramic D" pad. Are these the same as the Ceramic 3 XLife pads?

Also, you mention that the Cermic D's will have a much longer life than the ceramic pros. Are there any performance difference between the cermic d's and the ceramic pros? Do the ceramic pros have better braking power than the ceramic d's?

thanks for you help,
Steve

Hi

Yes Ceramic D are the same as Ceramic 3xLife.

Ceramic Pro (also known as Ceramic C) are a soft compound. They have more stopping power, run quieter and have lower heat build up than the D's, Sintered or Medium compounds.

Thanks

That's really great info. You should really incorporate that into the description of the pads in the Shopping section of your website.

One last silly question. The pictures of the pads show the retaining spring for the pads as well. Could you please confirm whether each pair of pads comes with a retaining spring? Specifically, I'm running Gustav Ms and Formula Oros. I just want to know before I order so that I know whether or not I need to order extra springs. Thanks. Steve

Hi

Thanks for your comments.

Yes I can confirm that the Gustav and Oro pads come with the springs.

Best Regards
