Best bad weather brakes

Hello,

I'm competing in Hel Van Kasterlee, 120km muddy MTB ride.
What are the best brakes, which ones don't fail for 120k ?

And they say u need to break the new breaks, heat them with braking when they are new.
How do I do this on flat roads ? Or can I heat them in a pan ?

Regards Smile

Hi,
For the ride you are describing you might be best advised to use Sintered pads. You can get further details on the various compounds here: https://www.discobrakes.com/?s=1&t=0&f=viewtopic.php?t=4384__a__amp;sid=fbe31d3f3df5eb5cf0d0701f7263d813&

With regards to the bedding in, please have a look at this article. It will give you some useful tips: https://www.bikeradar.com/advice/workshop/how-to-bed-in-new-disc-brake-pads/

We hope that helps.

One more small question where I struggle most times:

I have sram groupset. But there are so many different options.

Hi,
Have a look at our Disc Pad Identifier: https://www.discobrakes.com/?s=1&t=0&f=viewtopic.php?t=4398__a__amp;

This should help you to find the right pads for your brake.
