SRAM Level TL pads

I purchased the OBE-DA07 SG pads (ref 50483) to fit the rear caliper SRAM Level TL caliper. Initially although the pads fit into the caliper, once the spring is fitted it protrudes beyond the back plate of the pads and therefore will not drop in to the caliper. So I used the dremmel to grid them down a bit so they drop in nicely.
The next issue is that the pads are now too thick, even with the pistons pushed right back as far as they will go. I followed some video advice on getting the pistons fully recessed but the pads still don't fit.
Have I purchased the wrong pads? If so what are the correct pads, please?
Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg,
We are sorry to hear that you potentially purchased the wrong pads. We would suggest using the Brake Pad Identifier (https://www.discobrakes.com/pdf/DiscoBrakes.Com_Brake_Pad_Identifier_v11.pdf) as that should help you find the correct pads for your brakes.

We would think that you need the OBE-DA04 pads for the SRAM Level TL, but we mentioned above, it might be the safest way to check with the help of the Brake Pad Identifier.

Thanks for quick response and advice.
Can I return 2 packs of unopened pads for a refund?
The pads you recommend look like they will fit. Is there a reason why they don't reference being suitable for the Level TL caliper on disco brakes? I found the same when I google for the pads - the results never actually state compatibility with Level TL. Is that because Level TL is obsolete / rare / etc. do you know?
If must say that I'm glad I only have 1 bike (out of 7 family bikes) that has any SRAM kit on it, it gives no end of headaches. Shimano is so much easier to repair, maintain, or replace!
Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg,
That should not be a problem. We would suggest contacting our customer support team via [email protected] as they will be able to look into the return and refund of the unopened pads.

The Level family is a rather tricky one to be specific on, which is part of the reason why we have tools like the Pad Identifier.

I am personally a Shimano fan myself, so I know what you mean.
